A Form Two student from SMK Seberang Jaya, Nur Amirah was in her element when she put on a sparkling performance in the Women’s Open Masters which saw her upstaging senior bowlers.
As
if encouraged by the good showing which earned her the Girls Open crown
at the end of the first day, Nur Amirah went on to add the Women’s
Masters Open crown to her collection.
This the lass did in style
when her score of 2,082 pins allowed her to finish a massive 211 pins
ahead of the second placed Diyana Zuhaili Mohd Mazli, who only managed
to return a score of 1,871 pins.
Anis Shazlin Zulkhisham, who achieved a 1,861-pin total had to be contended with third placing.
However,
despite Nur Amirah’s two glorious moments, her performances in the
Girls Under-16 turned out to be her biggest disappointment as her score
of 1,030 pins denied her of what could have been a clean sweep of the
Women’s challenge.
She surrendered the Girls Under-16 crown to
Nur Azreen Syahira by just 42 pins after the eventual champ posted a
score of 1,072 pins.
